Diwali 2024 Pujan Samagri

For the Diwali puja, essential materials include the idols of Goddess Lakshmi and Lord Ganesh, along with:

 Roli, kumkum, and akshat (rice)

 Betel leaves and areca nut

 Coconut, cloves, and cardamom

 Incense sticks and camphor

 Clay lamps and cotton wicks

 Kalawa (sacred thread) and honey

 Yogurt, Ganga water, and jaggery

 Fruits, flowers, barley, and wheat

 Durva grass and sandalwood

 Vermilion, Panchamrit, and milk

 Nuts, batasha, janeu (sacred thread), white cloth, perfume, and more.

Diwali 2024 Pujan Vidhi

1.Preparation: Clean the puja area in the northern direction, drawing a swastika symbol, and sprinkle akshat over it. Cover a wooden seat with a red cloth and place the idols of Goddess Lakshmi and Lord Ganesh on it.
2.Establish Panchadev Idols: Before starting the puja, establish the idols of thePanchadev: Surya Dev, Shri Ganesh, Durga, Shiva, and Vishnu, and sanctify the setup with Ganga water.
3.Begin with Ganesh Mantras: Start the puja with mantras dedicated to Lord Ganesh, such as: 
   "Gajaananam Bhoota Ganaadi Sevitam, Kapittha Jambu Phala Saara Bhakshitam. Umaasutam Shoka Vinashakaaranam, Namami Vighneshwar Paada Pankajam."
4.Offerings: After worshiping Goddess Lakshmi and Lord Ganesh, apply a tilak of red vermilion on their foreheads.
5.Aarti and Prasad: Perform the aarti for both deities and offer them sweets as bhog (offering). Share the aarti and prasad with everyone present.
6.Lighting Diyas: Light diyas in every corner of the house to invite prosperity and dispel darkness.
